In my economics education, most of the statistics and econometrics I had learnt focused on adopting an explanatory lens. Jan 2021 was an unusually rainy month. It made the news several times in that month for the weather, and even dropped to 21.1°C. That’s pretty cooling weather for Singapore.

Update (Mar 2022)

HDB seems to have updated their website such that the historical application rates are only available from Nov 2020. I also seem to have some issues with scraping Feb 2021 application rates which I have frankly not bothered to fix. Hence, the code which I used will need some updates to work properly. The csv file with my scraped data as of Sep 2020 can be found here.
